From the producers of the Academy Award Winning documentary My Octopus Teacher comes a feature documentary about our collective future on Earth.
Going Circular dares to imagine a future where humankind not only survives, but flourishes, by rethinking global paradigms and respecting the limits of our planetary resources.
From the globe-spanning patterns of ocean currents to the microscopic cycles of a living cell, our planet sustains balance through circularity. Scientists, inventors, economists, and designers are increasingly finding that nature’s most fundamental rules of the biosphere may just be the solution to humanity’s collision course with the technosphere.
Throughout the documentary, directors Richard Dale and Nigel Walk focus on the experiences of four groundbreaking thinkers who navigate environmental, economic, and social crises of the modern age: James Lovelock, the creator of Gaia theory; Arthur Huang, an architect and engineer focused on zero-waste, sustainable structures; Janine Benyus, founder of the Biomimicry Institute; and John Fullerton, a former Wall Street executive who left the upper echelons of JPMorgan to pioneer the concept of Regenerative Economics.
Earth’s natural systems have perfected themselves over millennia, reducing waste and maximizing efficiency. By mirroring nature’s paradigms humanity stands to not only reverse our crash course with anthropogenic crises, but to flourish through economic and production models that are more resilient, profitable, and equitable.

Regenerative Capitalism: A New Economy Based on Living Systems
With John Fullerton, founder of Capital Institute
We may think of economics as a dry and academic pursuit, but assumptions about money and economy are both reflective of, and instrumental in, shaping our interactions with the natural world.
In this provocative conversation with John Fullerton, architect of Regenerative Economics and one of the four featured experts in the film, “Going Circular,” we explore a new way of thinking that aligns economics with living systems and the many wisdom traditions, particularly indigenous, that have stood the test of time.
By applying nature’s laws and patterns of systemic health, self-organization, self-renewal, and regenerative vitality to socioeconomic systems, regenerative economics offers an emerging path forward from our current unsustainable economic system and the finance-dominated ideology that drives it.
Join us to learn more about this holistic perspective that literally brings economics to life.
