Burns Village & Farm and Cohousing US co-hosting Virtual Information Event
June 21, 2022 5:00-7:00 PM Central Time
This 2-hour virtual event is an opportunity to join co-housing experts and dreamers from around the country as we explore the building blocks of community. It seeks to educate and empower future co-housing members by exploring topics such as sustainability, families in co-housing, social infrastructure and the future of our movement.
This virtual event will feature a moderated panel, audience Q&A and a virtual exhibit hall of co-housing professionals and forming communities. The final half hour will be a breakout group for those of us involved with Burns Village & Farm.

Jubilee Potluck on June 26th, 2022 for Burns Village & Farm Explorers and Members. Everyone can pick free blueberries and enjoy a potluck dinner on a Member couple’s farm.
SEMINAR: Designing for Community
Friday, July 8, 2022 7:00-8:30 PM Central Time
Jack Wilbern, architect and resident of the Blueberry Hill Cohousing Community in Vienna, VA, will offer a free presentation titled, Designing for Community. He will describe elements of site design and architecture that foster a cooperative community. He’ll also talk about designing in harmony with the land, including the implications of the sun, wind, sound, topography, geometry, and future homeowners’ ideas for designing a community.

Site Analysis and Community Design Workshop
Saturday, July 9, 2022 All Day
This workshop with Jack Wilbern is for BVF Explorers and Members only who will come together to envision the master layout of the 15-acre site for our cohousing village and agrihood, including how it will work with the existing family farm to make this corner of the world both beautiful and sustainable. It is free to Explorers and current Members. Current Explorers and Members can participate at no charge. We also invite new Explorers who register by July 1st, pay their $300 Explorer fee, and complete an Orientation Session by July 7th. It will be held at Germantown Commons in North Nashville, TN.

Seeing the Site Through the Architect’s Eyes – A site walk with the Architect. Participants in the Saturday workshop will have the option of visiting the site with Jack and Patricia, and talking with them about optimizing opportunities presented by the land.
